In case you haven’t noticed, I have quite the sweet-tooth. I could eat dessert after every single meal, and in fact, have been known to do just that.
Luckily, I’ve been able to satisfy my sweet-tooth (and still fit into my jeans) thanks to this detox-friendly pudding.
This pudding is based off my Cherry Chocolate Bomb Pudding–> which is still an all-time favorite of mine, and a total crowd pleaser! Everyone falls in love with this dessert, which happens to be (secretly) loaded with heart-healthy fats and fiber.

I’ve been enjoying a NEW detox-version lately for two reasons:
- It’s been difficult to find organic frozen cherries lately (cherries are an important fruit to buy organic, due to high-levels of pesticides used on them!)
- Sweet fruits, like cherries, can be a problem for many women. Fruits are incredibly cleansing, and if you have any yeast issues (like Candida), or simply have consumed a diet full of processed-food products, many fruits may not sit so well with you.
One way to tell if fruit is a problem for you, is to examine how you feel after eating a piece of fruit on an empty stomach, preferably in the morning. If you feel bloated or gassy, you may benefit from laying-off sugars– even the natural ones found in fruit– for a month or more, to kill off any yeast-overgrowth in your body. Of course, for many people (including me), cutting-out sugar all together isn’t a reasonable expectation.
I’m a grouch if I don’t have my chocolate fix.
Luckily for us, we can still satisfy our sweet-cravings with some low-sugar fruits, like green apples, grapefruits and berries, along with stevia (make sure you buy brands that are 100% stevia, without any additives), while still cleansing our bodies!

Detox Chocolate (Avocado) Pudding (raw, vegan)
serves 1-2
Ingredients:
1 ripe avocado
1/2 cup frozen organic blueberries
2 Tablespoons cocoa powder
1/4 tsp. pure almond extract (vanilla extract is delicious, too!)
2-3 T. pure water, for blending (adjust for desired texture)
liquid stevia, to taste (I use anywhere from 10-20 drops, depending on the size of the avocado)
pinch of salt
Directions:
Scoop the flesh of the avocado into a mini-food processor, and add the blueberries, cocoa powder, a few drops of liquid stevia and water. Blend until smooth and creamy, scraping the sides as needed.
Adjust the sweetness to taste, then serve immediately!
Leftovers can be stored in an air-tight container in the fridge, for at least a day. (my leftovers never last more than a day, so I couldn’t tell ya how long they last after that!)

Hope you enjoy this detox-friendly version as much as I do!
Reader Feedback: Do you crave sweet foods? What’s your favorite treat to satisfy your cravings?

THat pudding sounds wonderful! I’ll have to give it a try!
Yes I love sweet foods — usually I’ll have fruit, or some dates with PB to help those cravings.
I am totally going to make this pudding tonight — looks delicious!
Hope you enjoy the pudding!! (I’m addicted…)
I love dates stuffed with pecans, too– it tastes like pecan pie!!
I LOVE all the info you included in this post! I honestly didn’t know much of that info about fruits!
I have a wicked sweet tooth. My all time favorite treat is Lindt’s sea salt chocolate, but supercharge me cookies or yogurt can usually tame it too!
I have yet to try a Supercharge Me cookie, and I’ve had the recipe for months! Thanks for reminding me of those.
I love anything sweet with sea-salt… YUM.
I feel exactly the same way about sweets (especially chocolate)!! This pudding looks delicious! I tried making an avocado + chocolate pudding once and failed MISERABLY…so I’ll definitely have to try again with your recipe
Adding the frozen fruit to the avocado makes ALL the difference!
I had tried many other versions before a “lightbulb” went off in my head to add the frozen fruit! It makes it cold, sweet and creamy!! The cherry-chocolate version has everyone fooled– my dad didn’t believe there was even avocado in it!
Hi there, thanks for stopping by my site!
This pudding sounds lovely, I actually make something very similar with equal parts of avocado and banana blending with chocolate. So rich and delicious!
I am definitely more of salty eater than a sweet eater. Honestly if it was social acceptable to a salt lick I would. But on the occasion that I do crave something sweet…I want a warm batch of chocolate chip cookies.
I’m an avocado fiend! I bet i’d love this! =)
