1. I was really excited to share a new chocolate recipe this week.
Too bad it doesn’t taste as good as it looks.
This is why experimenting with individual-sized desserts is a good idea… less to throw away later, when it turns out to be a disaster.

2. Luckily, I still managed to get my chocolate fix.
I love these 1.5 oz bars! Since I’ve been known to polish off a whole bar of dark chocolate in one evening, I figured I should see if a smaller bar would still satisfy me.
A mental “trick,” if you will.
The second bar is there for back-up, in case it doesn’t work out.

3. My brother gave me this brilliant idea.
We were discussing how bread-like eggplant can be, and he suggested simply putting it in the toaster! Now, why didn’t I think of that?
Oh right, because it sounds crazy.
But, it actually worked. The eggplant didn’t get too crispy, but it was nicely cooked after a couple rounds in the toaster! Perfect for eggplant pizzas!

4. My weeknight dinners just got easier.
This past weekend, I made a big batch of cauliflower rice and stored it as individual-portions in the freezer. It’s such a time-saver!
For a quick meal, simply grab a bag from the freezer and toss in the pan to prepare an easy fried rice! Or, allow to the rice to thaw and use it in a cauliflower pizza crust!

5. For those of you who can’t make it to a Physique 57 class, this DVD is the next best thing.
After attending classes at the Beverly Hills studio this weekend, I’m happy to report that this Advanced 57 Minute DVD is nearly identical to the class I took on Sunday!
So, if you’re looking for a good challenge, look no further.
But don’t come whining to me when you can barely walk tomorrow.

Reader Feedback: What are you up to this week? Any fun workouts or kitchen experiments to share?

Amazing idea for eggplant! Can’t wait to try it!
i got that physique 57 dvd, love it. need to get back into more
Your brother may just be a genius! Thanks for sharing.
Yes, he is.
I’m going to have to pick his brain more often!!
What a great idea..I love simple things like that!! I went to a yoga sculpt class yesterday that rocked and today a vinyasa class that I loved too! Also fitting in the short cardio sessions to balance it out!
Love all that yoga!
Um, the eggplant idea is brilliant. It will go perfect with cashew cheese sauce!
Yum!!
Ok, I’ve got to know what that chocolaty mess (that apparently looks better than it tastes) is. It really does LOOK incredible. What’s it all about?
Well, that picture was taken pre-baking. When I baked it, it turned into a dry, bitter mess!! Dang it.
But, I will try, try again.
What’s the recipe? Perhaps I could assist in tweaking it into something that tastes as good as it looks.
Eggplant in the toaster?? Brilliant!
Love the tips! That is such a genius idea for the eggplant! and I love the idea of keeping a pile of cauliflower rice in the freezer! I need to try that out! Those mini chocolate bars are too cute! They’re the perfect portion size and I certainly need portion control when it comes to chocolate
That first photo is food porn….looks so good! Probably a good thing that it didn’t taste good because I’d be whipping some up right now.
I’m going to try that eggplant, it looks good! Do you eat the skin?
Yes, I do!
man! i just love your blog. you have inspired me to eat in a way that is delicious AND i feel great. please keep posting! love it!
Aw, thanks!
I agree eggplant is a awesome bread substitute. I actually had eggplant french toast this morning! And OMG the classic 57 minute workout is so hard (and good) I cant imagine doing the advance one, but it is inspiring!
Eggplant french toast?! Yum!!!
The Advanced DVD made me want to cry the first time I tried it– and I think it sat on my shelf for a year after that! LOL
Now, I’m brave enough to rotate it into my routine every now and then.
great ideas thank you
Hi Megan, what brilliant ideas! I’m definitely trying the eggplant toast & cauli rice tips. This is probably so wrong (enzymes etc.) but I’ve been lazy with my juicing and have been thawing cubes of green juice overnight- then enjoying it in the morning with a squeeze of lemon juice. Better than no juice right
.
In case you didn’t know, Megan, LOVE that eggplant tip – I knew brothers were good for something!
Cool Eggplant Trick! Thanks for Sharing Megan!
