Finally, a normal week at home! I couldn’t be more excited to be reunited with my own kitchen.
–
Morning
Un-pictured: Lots of filtered water, Dr. Ohhira’s probiotics, and 2 cups coffee with homemade almond milk creamer.
Followed later by some fresh green juice, made with kale, romaine, carrots and a lemon.
–
Lunch
Choco-cado smoothie! (<– recipe here)
I added a couple handfuls of fresh spinach and extra ice, for a slushy-like texture. Eating it with a spoon slows me down, and prevents brain freeze.
–
Post-Workout Snack
Plain goat’s milk yogurt, with a splash of pure maple syrup and a dash of cinnamon.
–
Dinner
A mixed green salad topped with homemade sauerkraut, steamed beets, shredded raw goat cheddar, and lemon dressing.
Followed later by some crust-less quiche bites! These were kind of a happy accident on my part, but they were surprisingly delicious. After a bit of tweaking, I’ll be sure to share the recipe.
–
Not surprisingly, I ended the night with some dark chocolate.
Reader Feedback: What are YOU eating this week?

You honestly eat the best meals do jealous!:)
I really want to try my hand at making sauerkraut – I’m going to have to make an announcement or something I can hold myself to! It’s just one of those things that I’m sure once I’ve done it, it’ll be no big deal.
This week I’ve been eating so much fruit and craving hydrating foods such as cucumbers, so I’ve been filling up on those. In my efforts to rein in my chocolate addiction I’ve also been enjoying medjool dates.
Nice and clean food!…Wondering if you can share the crust-less quiche pie recipe?… thanks
I’ll be posting the recipe later this week!
Wow- your food looks delicious, and you must feel great after eating it! I’ve been cutting out gluten and sugar, so my meals have been highlighting fresh summer produce (yum!!) and some delish grilled salmon. I also made you almond butter cookies, which I was skeptical about, but they worked perfectly and were great! P.S. I’ve noticed that you eat soft goat cheese a lot- is it good for you/better than other forms of protein?
Since I was a vegetarian for many years, I still tend to lean towards dairy and eggs as my main sources of animal-based protein. Goat dairy, particularly raw goat dairy, is easier to digest than cow’s dairy, so that’s why I use raw goat cheddar and feta so often. Every now and then, I’ll enjoy pasteurized goat yogurt or soft goat cheese, too. I wouldn’t say it’s “better” than other forms of protein, necessarily, but I certainly do enjoy it!
After traveling the past 2 weekends in a row, i fell off the clean and healthy wagon, and had dinner with friends, ate a steak, which i couldn’t finish, and shared some beer cheese soup with my daughter. I must say, i could tell by my body’s reaction (headache, bloated gassy tummy), that i missed my daily green veggie juice, proper food combining and my delicious lunch salads. I literally DEVOURED my salad Monday, craving the freshness of the veggies, goat cheese, and lemon dressing. I’m back on the wagon, and don’t plan to fall off again anytime soon! (P.S. my favorite dark chocolate right now is Dagoba lavendar blueberry) MMM!
Yum I love beets in a salad! I roasted some beets in garlic, a little bit of coconut oil, thyme and rosemary inside a foil packet for about 45 mins and tossed them with candied onions and a light balsamic and stevia based dressing and a hard boiled egg for a delicious and satisfying dinner the other night. The trick is to pre-peel the beets so the garlic and herb flavour gets baked in which can be done by slicing off the top and bottom of the beet to make a flat edge then using a fork to anchor the beet while you use a vegetable peeler to peel down, flipping the beet and peeling the other side down to meet the first one. It sounds tricky but it beats spending the rest of the day with blood-red stained hands! Also, I’ll bet some goats cheese would just take it over the edge in terms of decadence!
Looking forward to that quiche recipe!
Yum, that sounds fantastic! I have yet to find the patience to peel a beet, but your technique sounds intriguing.
I LOVE your site so much. It has been such a HUGE blessing to me to have it as a reference. I have been eating this way for about 5 months now and am finally free of all allergy and sinus medicines as a result!!! I feel great and love many of your recipes.
In fact, I have shared your recipes a few times already on my new blog with a link to your site.
so, thank you!
Thanks, Jenny! And congratulations on improving your health and being free of those medications! That’s such an amazing accomplishment!
I’ll do my best to keep the recipes coming.
Those beets look way tasty! I’m always jealous of the delicious looking meals you make:)
And that choco-cado smoothie looks so yummy!!
