Frequently Asked Questions

Can these recipes be found on the website?

No, most of the recipes in my cookbooks are exclusive to the books! That means you won’t find them anywhere else, except for a few fan favorites that were too good to leave out. (Like freezer fudge!)

What makes this cookbook different from your other ones?

This cookbook focuses on fast vegetarian recipes (most of them are ready in 30 minutes or less) that are budget-friendly & kid-friendly. Each recipe has an estimated cost per serving included, so you can see just how affordable healthy eating can be!

In the budget-friendly meal plan, you’ll also find that a full day of meals costs less than $6 per person. It also includes tips for freezing & reheating meals, along with tips for using a slow cooker or pressure cooker.

Are the recipes all vegan?

No, but out the 100 recipes in the book, 79 of them are vegan as-written. Several others can be easily modified by simply leaving off the cheese.

Is nutrition information included?

Yes, you can find the nutrition info in the back of this book for every recipe.

What Readers Are Saying

★★★★★ No Excuses Detox and Everyday Detox are my all time favorite cookbooks!!! I have made the majority of the recipes and everyone have been delicious! These two recipe books should be in your cooking library!

★★★★★ I adore both of Megan’s books. This is by far the most used cookbook in our house! On repeat on a regular basis are the Southwest lettuce wraps (the dressing is perfection and I half the sweetener), overnight quinoa pizza, enchilada stuffed zuchinni boats. My two boys age 5 and 7 have a new love for veggies and get so excited to pick out meals for the week and help shop.

★★★★★ I love this book. Her recipes are so reliably good that I don’t even make adjustments! You will feel light and good after these recipes and your palette will be satisfied!

★★★★★ I received this cookbook on Thursday of last week and so far, I’ve made a double batch of Megan’s Freezer Oat Waffles (I ate three before even putting them in the freezer!), the Frosty Chocolate Shake and the Frozen Chai Latte, the Strawberries & Cream Freezer Pops (which I covered with chocolate), a double batch of the Creamy Vanilla Ice Cream (I put half into a container in the freezer and made ice cream bars with the rest, which I also dipped in chocolate…), and the Deep Dish Chocolate Chip Cookie. The recipes were quick and easy, all of them using ingredients I keep on hand. Every single recipe I made is incredible! They all taste so decadent but are packed with real, whole food ingredients. I plan meals on a monthly basis, so I am looking forward to next month being filled with more of Megan’s lunch and dinner recipes! I am very budget-conscious, so I love that the cost per serving is noted and the shopping lists are certainly helpful for anyone wanting help with meal planning. I would say this book makes healthy eating a real possibility for those looking to make some changes and it’s wonderful for families like mine who strive for healthy eating habits daily. This book is a total winner, worth every penny!

★★★★★ I love that the recipes are clean, simple, yet satisfying. Most of the ingredients are things I already have in the pantry or regularly buy. No hard to find ingredients. This book is a must have in the kitchen if you are or want to eat clean and healthy.

From the publisher:

In No Excuses Detox, Megan Gilmore presents a collection of satisfying, family-friendly recipes developed with speed, convenience, and optimum digestion in mind. Because enjoying what you eat on a daily basis is crucial to maintaining health goals, these recipes for comfort food favorites–from Freezer Oat Waffles, Butternut Mac n’ Cheese, Quinoa Pizza, Loaded Nacho Dip, and Avocado Caesar Salad to Frosty Chocolate Shakes, No-Bake Brownie Bites, and Carrot Cake Cupcakes—taste just as good as their traditional counterparts, but are healthier versions packed with nutrients.

Megan Gilmore sharply identifies many of the reasons people fail to stick to a healthy diet—too busy, budget conscious, cooking for picky eaters, concerns about taste or fullness, and more—addressing them head on and offering simple solutions.

This beautifully packaged and artfully photographed book gives readers no excuse to not eat well year-round.
