    Hi Megan,
I’d love to hear how and why you use some of your beauty products, especially the argan oil!
    Great website!

    • says

Hi Hez! I used the Argan oil as a moisturizer, mostly for my face and neck. Lately, I’ve actually been washing my face with olive oil or coconut oil, which acts as a built-in moisturizer, too. It’s great for the whole body!

Hi Megan! I love your site! It’s the perfect helper as I transition my family to Primal/Paleo. I wondered how exactly you wash your face with oils? Do you put it on wet skin and then just dry your face with a towel or do you use a secondary product to remove the extra olive oil?

Also, how well does the Josie Maran foundation do for covering up?

    • says

I use olive oil or coconut oil to wash my face every night! You can look up the “Oil Cleansing Method” for the technique. I love how my skin looks and feels since making the switch, so I’ll never use facial soaps again!

Do you have any recommendations for daily facial sunscreen? I am having a really hard time finding any that don’t have a mile long ingredient list! Thanks

    • Patty says

Josie Maran has a SPF 40 facial sunscreen that is awesome. It contains argan oil too. I’ve been using it for a couple of years and I love it! You can buy it at Sephora.

I have over 40 dry-ish sensitive skin and use coconut oil with a bit of baking soda to cleanse. It exfoliates without irritating and my skin looks great.

      Hi Denene!
How do you use the oil and baking spa for face wash? just mixing both and massaging your face in the am/pm?
      thank you!

Love these reccomends! I have been wondering about organic makeup/cleansers and this helps a lot!
Quick question, I heard that washing off eye makeup with coconut oil is harmful to your eyes, is this true? And if so, any specific eye makeup remover you use?

Thanks lady! Your site is amazing and has changed my life!!

    Hi, Monika,

I use 100% organic Jojoba oil as a makeup remover. Works great and keeps the skin around my eyes moisturized. I am very sensitive and jojoba oil doesn’t bother me at all.

    hope that helps!

    Hi Megan,

Would love to have you take you look at the skincare at, and tell me what you think. Actually, if you want to review any of the products, that would be great. Another fellow nutritionist distribute the products and thinks they’re great, but I’m ALWAYS looking for more people’s opinions. I love to use the protein powder for shakes, and found your site from the choc. peanut butter vegan shake.

I saw this post the other day, and immediately decided to give coconut oil a try as a face wash. So far, I have absolutely loved the results. I’ve been doing it at night, but I usually wash my face in the morning as well before I apply SPF. Would this process be safe and recommended to do for both morning and night? Also, I have the Josie Maran Argan Oil. Should I apply this after washing my face? Or would your experience prove that the coconut oil moisture is sufficient? Thank you so much!

  9. Megan says

Do you recommend a certain brand of Olive Oil for face washing? I currently am using the tropical traditional gold label coconut oil as a full body moisturizer, and i simple love it! Thx!

  10. NK says

Do you still use crystal Ally deodorant? Your link to amazon says it’s no longer available. If not, can you recommend another alternative?

  11. Michele says

Hey Megan, love your recipes!!!! What I have discovered is making a PASTE with sea salt and coconut oil. I use it on my who body and face rinse, and my skin feels amazing!!! Sea Salt from Costco so cheap.
