Sorry for my sporadic posting schedule this week! I’ve been so busy with work deadlines, and, in my free time, I’ve been enjoying some much-needed catch-up time with friends and family. This crazy schedule has left me very little time for exercise!!
This card I illustrated just seemed appropriate for this post. 🙂
I am feeling totally out-of-whack with my normal exercise routine. Kansas is FREEZING now, and there’s just no way I’m waking up to run in 19-degree weather in the DARK. No thank you.
So, in order to not be a TOTAL lazy-bum… I’ve come up with a little routine that I do in the morning, which gets my blood flowing, and sets a healthy tone for the rest of my day. The best thing about this little routine? It only takes 5 minutes. EVERYONE has 5 minutes somewhere in their day to workout!!
Try to move quickly into each exercise, taking no breaks in between. (otherwise it will take more than 5-minutes!) 😉
5-minute workout circuit:
- 15-20 push-ups (you want your arms to be tired by the end)
- 25 crunches
- 25 reverse crunches
- 50 squats (using only body weight)
- 50 jumping jacks
- Repeat entire circuit!!
It may not be much, but I really find that even getting just a little exercise in the morning starts my day off on the right foot. Especially when I’m traveling and faced with eating lots of meals out and all sorts of office temptations!! (i.e. fresh bagels this morning!!) If I find time later in the day, I might do this routine again or squeeze in some time on my rebounder, too!
Remember, every bit counts!! 😀
