Black Friday Cookbook Bonus

‘Tis the season for giving, right?

As you may know, I’ve been working on my next cookbook and the WORST part of it is the fact that I can’t share these recipes with you right away. Waiting for a book to be released is kinda like waiting for Christmas each year… only the wait is longer. I do my best to share half of the recipes I develop here on the blog, and then I save the other half for the book.

But, I had an idea.

I can’t offer a discount or Black Friday sale on my cookbook, because I don’t sell the book myself, but I can offer you a little bonus! For those of you who purchase an extra copy of my cookbook to gift to your friends and family between November 25th and December 25th, I’ll send you a bonus recipe bundle with 5 of the new recipes I’m saving for my next book. This means you’ll get them over a year early!

The recipes included in this bonus are:

  • Philly Cheese “Steak” Stuffed Squash
  • Butternut Stuffing (My current favorite)
  • Vegan & Paleo Deep Dish Cookie
  • Almond Butter Ice Cream (no coconut or added sugar)
  • Creamy Herb Dressing (nut-free)

All of the recipes are paleo and vegan-friendly (only one recipe has cheese added to the top, and it can easily be left off.) I’ve literally eaten the Butternut Stuffing three times this week alone, and it was a total hit at our “friendsgiving” last night! I’ve also eaten my weight in deep-dish cookies topped with ice cream… for research purposes, of course. (Ha!)

Oddly enough, the Almond Butter Ice Cream tastes remarkably like my husband’s favorite cereal: Peanut Butter Cap’n Crunch! I have no idea why, but we both can’t get over it– especially since this ice cream is just about as healthy as it gets, with no coconut oil or added sugar. It’s a mystery.

Here’s how to claim your bonus:

Just like any other Black Friday special, this offer does not apply to previous purchases. Only books purchased between Nov. 25th and Dec 25th are eligible for this digital bonus, and then these recipes won’t be available again until Spring 2017. Please forward a copy of your receipt to detoxinista (at) gmail (dot) com so I can send you the PDF! (I will start emailing them out on Black Friday.)

I hope you’ll consider this my way of saying “thank you” for sharing my recipes with your friends and family. It’s an affordable gift they can enjoy year-round, and I hope it will leave everyone feeling happier and healthier! I love hearing how messy and beaten-up your cookbooks are getting from using them so often– it seriously makes my day. I hope you’ll use these recipes just as much!

Reader Feedback: Now’s the time for any recipe requests you might have. Let me know if there are any recipe favorites you’d like to see get a “healthy makeover” in the comments below!

Hey Megan! I’m sorry if this is a bit offtopic but I noticed that for a while (a couple months or so) your website becomes unresponsive after a few seconds in some instances/ on some pages. I wont be able to scroll down your page and sometimes it actually locks up my whole browser with an unresponsive script assert when I leave the page up long enough. I didn’t know where else to contact you and since it happened again on this page I figured I’m just going to stomp my foot and post a comment about it. It’s a pretty off-putting niggle and I’m not sure if you’re aware that it’s happening- as it might be happening to others, too. It’s happened to me on both mac and PC and when connected to different internet providers (at home and at lunch at work.)
I don’t have an adblocker installed and I live in the UK if that’s helpful to you! I hope you can get this sorted because I love reading your posts but I have found it difficult lately when wanting to look for a new recipe of yours to try and having to refresh the page like a billion times haha..
Anyway, hope you have a happy thanksgiving weekend 🙂
All the best,

    Hi Adriana,

I have noticed the same thing (also living in UK).

    Megan Gilmore

I had no idea! Thank you for letting me know!

    Yep, me too…..

Will HOLIDAY30 only work for one book for order? That’s what it doing for me. Any ideas?

Hi Megan! We love your book, and wanted to take advantage of the deal, to gift it to family, but it don’t seem to work? Does same code apply to Canadian Amazon? It says “code not recognized”. 🙁

    Megan Gilmore

I’m sorry, several of my Canadian friends told me that it hasn’t worked for them, either. Boo!

I found the answer when I googled it. Thanks!

Very cool! But I will miss out on the Black Friday deal. Oh well!
I purchased 4 cookbooks last week for my sisters and I’m excited to give it to them.
I love this cookbook and i have made tons of recipes from it!!! It is definitely my favorite cookbook in the world. It’s a great cookbook when can make a cool-looking and healthy dinner from it with 4 kids running around- ages 7 and under. ?

I’ve already made the mint chocolate fudge bars multiple times and anticipate they will be a staple for a long time! My husband and I can’t get enough of them.

Martha Hughes

The HOLIDAY30 code is not working….any suggestions?

    Megan Gilmore

I believe that promo code was only valid for Black Friday weekend. But, the cookbook is still 45% off on Amazon right now!

Erin Althaus

I purchased your book a while back and am loving it. I have made the chocolate chia shake I don’t know how many times! My kids love it 🙂 Any chance I could purchase the bonus recipes? The ice cream and cookies sound AMAZING 🙂

My fave binge treat is burnt almond torte from Prantls Bakery in Pittsburgh…it’s totally addictive- it’s ‘don’t slice a piece of it, just sit it on your lap and dig in til it’s unrecognizable’ good. I know there may be Paleo attempts at duplicating it, but would love love love to see yours!:) Also, never have been a dark chocolate girl- any way of making dark chocolate taste like milk chocolate, perhaps with almond or coconut milk…??? Maybe a milk chocolate almond bark…???:)

Megan I made the cookie from the cookbook and love love love it!! I have one question though…Is it supposed to be like a soft baked cooked or crunchy/firm cookie? Mine came out a bit soft but that could be because I just tasted it warm (can’t wait for it to cool completely lol)

    Megan Gilmore

Nut-butter based cookies are rarely ever “crunchy” unless you add some sort of starch to it, like arrowroot, or some sort of grain-based flour. The cookie in the book has more of a soft and gooey center (which is my favorite) but it does firm up so you can easily slice and hold it with your hands once it has cooled completely.
