Exciting News To Share

When I began blogging a few years ago, I never dreamed that my little recipe blog would develop into the interactive and supportive community it has become today.

This website was originally intended to be my own personal recipe resource (a way to avoid storing hard-copies of my favorite recipes when we moved into a teeny-tiny Los Angeles apartment), but it also became an easy way to share healthy recipe ideas with my long-distance friends and family. Over the years, the number of friends and family has grown, and now includes all of you reading here today!

Which is why I’m so excited to share my news with you all, my virtual family.

I’m writing a cookbook!

I spoke with several publishers last year, and finally found the perfect home for my cookbook at Ten Speed Press, a division of Random House. It will feature loads of all-natural recipes that are family-friendly and easy to incorporate into an overall healthy lifestyle.

You may have noticed that I’ve posted a few pictures of recipes over the past few months, which I haven’t been able to share with you quite yet. It’s terribly difficult to keep them to myself, but I’m saving half of the recipes I develop for my book, and the other half for the blog.

Needless to say, things have been pretty busy over here!

Congratulations Megan! I have meant to write you for a long time. I am not exaggerating when I say I use your recipes almost every day. They are clear, come out as expected, don’t require too many ingredients and time and they taste great! You make it possible for me to feed my family yummy healthy home-cooked meals every day. I always enjoyed cooking but now I can provide my guests and family with healthy tasty alternatives to traditional dishes, this is so rewarding! I follow your advice on everything from nutrition, shampoo to kitchenware 🙂 We had a party with over 100 people; I made large dishes of your delicious blueberry crumble…So many of my friends commented on how delicious it was! My recommendation for your cookbook is keep it accessible to everyone. As you say it so well: healthy living is easier than you think! If my husband can eat beet brownies, everybody should try them! I will be buying your book by the dozen to give as a gift!

Congratulations! Your site is my go-to because I know it is made with ingredients I can eat and actually tastes amazing. Im a CNC and deal with many clients with food intolerances so I always refer my clients to your site for ideas, so def will be referring your book too!

Please continue with sauces, dressings and desserts that are grain free and sweetened with stevia. It is so rare to find baking recipes with stevia ( I can’t tolerate any sugar, even dates or honey, etc.) I love that even if you include those you usually include a stevia option. Would also love a dairy/goat milk free recipe for ranch dressing. This is one that is hard to come by.

I was just thinking the other day, while cooking up you pumpkin sage spaghetti squash recipe, that you should totally write a cookbook! i am definitely going to be buying a copy, hopefully it’s available on kindle!!! i would really love to see lots of family friendly main meal idea recipes as i have my picky husband, daughter and son to feed! and also more salad dressing recipes!

Congratulations, I will be buying the book definitely. I love all the recipes in your blog.
My suggestions are:
-Europe friendly (since I am living in the Netherlands)
-Menus for busy work days and menus for a detox week and menus for parties
-Grain free, dairy free and vegetarian options
-Macros for each meal (calories, proteins, carbs and fat numbers)
-Definitely a section about food combining and allergies.
-Recipes for expecting moms and recipes for postpartum
-Information on every recipe about how long can it stay in the fridge, how long can it stay in the freezer
-Tips on how to cook in large amounts to freeze for later use.
-And the tools you use for the recipes.

My suggestions for your book are:

Keep them internationally friendly (i.e what u can substitute for a particular ingredient and what kind of blender to use if one doesn’t have vitamix).

Grain free recipe section or marked clearly.

congratulations!!!! i feel like you are part of my family, since i am on your site multiple times a day and use so many of your recipes…..does it sound funny to say that i am so proud of you? 🙂 the only suggestion i would have is to stay true to your blog and your philosophies while writing your book, they are so on-point and resonate so well with your readers. you make eating healthy feel easy, comfortable, achievable, and delicious! keep that theme going through your book, and i think you will have a definitely best seller!

i would also love to see easy, savory grain free/dairy free/clean snacks. there are a plethora of recipes out there for gluten free/grain free/ dairy free desserts and sweets, but i am a sucker for something salty or crunchy!!! 😉

Congratulations! I have used many of your recipes and love all of them. My daugther has milk, wheat, egg and tree nut allergies (excluding almond). I would love to see a recipe for wheat, milk and egg-free bread, it would be great if it was yeast based. I would also like recipes for dishes containing vegetables that appeal to children. I would like my 4 and 2 year old to eat more vegetables.
