Friday Easter Finds

With Easter just a couple of days away, I feel like cute ideas and recipes are popping up all over the internet–> probably more than I have time to try this year.

In case you’re still looking for some fun ways to celebrate this weekend, I thought I’d share some of my favorite finds!

1. Bake your next batch of “Hard Boiled” Eggs.

I never would have thought to bake my hard-boiled eggs, but if you want to cook a few dozen at once, this would certainly be easier than boiling all that water! Perfect for dying eggs, or making a large batch of deviled eggs for a party. ๐Ÿ™‚

2. Speaking of dying eggs…

…here’s a Handy Guide to Using Natural Dyes this year!

I’ve dyed my fingers with beet juice often enough to know it’s effective.

3. Another cute way to present your deviled eggs?

“Hatched” chicks!!

After dying our eggs, I’m totally making these. (Probably using capers for the eyes, and sliced carrot or bell pepper for the beaks)

4. For a vegan “egg,” these Chocolate-Covered Egg-Shaped Cheesecakes get my vote.

Really, I think I’d enjoy these any time of the year…ย

5. Macaroon “chicks.”

Since I’ll be making a batch of my detox macaroons this weekend anyway, why not make them cuter? Love this idea.

Aww these are so cute! Unfortunately no, I don’t have any crafts planned, but Mama Pea made SUCH a cute Peeps wreath in her post today and I really really want to make it!

That sounds really cute! I’ve never liked Peeps (or marshmallows, in general), but using them as a decoration sounds very practical! ๐Ÿ˜‰

So many cute ideas! Thanks so much for sharing my “cheesecake” eggs. Hope you have a great Easter! ๐Ÿ™‚

I have no plans to create anything cool for Easter. I wish, but my family is not really big on it. These are such cute ideas though! So maybe I’ll make one of them anyways! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I had no idea you could bake eggs..crazy! Great tips..thanks for sharing!! Have a great weekend!!

Those hatched chicks are adorable!! I think I have to make them!! And the baked eggs…what a cool idea. Maybe if I try this the shells will come off easier for me, I have such horrible luck boiling them. They are mangled by the time I am done with them!!

The trick is to apply cold water right after taking them off the heat, so that the cold makes the eggs inside the shell contract, and pull away from the membrane. You’ll have to replace the water a couple times to get the heat out. Then when you crack them, crush the more pointed end in first – that’s where the air bubble is, and a good place to start peeling.

Btw, I literally just had a ten second awwwwwwwww about those hatched chicks. That is too cute. Except for the capers, blech. ๐Ÿ˜›

I love the hard boiled eggs tip- I never knew that you could bake them!
