The Fresh Energy Cookbook Review & Giveaway

As you all know, I love creating and finding healthy recipes that are easy to prepare and taste amazing.

the fresh energy cookbook

That’s why The Fresh Energy Cookbook is a favorite new addition to my cookbook collection! Written by two of my mentors, Natalia Rose and Doris Choi, The Fresh Energy Cookbook is brimming with delicious recipes, all properly combined for optimal digestion and nutrient absorption.

Since training with Doris Choi, I can personally attest to the brilliance and simplicity of her recipes– they are all quick and easy to prepare, with truly impressive results! Almost all of the recipes are low in sugar, making them appropriate for anyone following a sugar-free or yeast-conscious diet, as well. With added insights and tips from detox expert and clinical nutritionist, Natalia Rose, this book is not to be missed!

Here’s a peek at some of the amazing recipes included, all of which I’ve already sampled and enjoyed myself:

recipes from the fresh energy cookbook

1. Raw Kimchi.
2. Collard Wraps with Carrot JalapeΓ±o Sauce
3. Cauliflower “Couscous”
4. Cucumber Avocado Rolls
5. Basic Tomato Sauce
6. Raw Sunflower “Tuna Salad”
7. Mexican Kale Salad, Thai Basil Slaw and Raw Thai Young Coconut Soup

Plus many, many more!

I can’t recommend this cookbook highly enough. Unlike most of my cookbooks, which sit on my shelf and collect dust after finding one or two good recipes, I find myself going back to this one again and again!

Lucky for us, I get to giveaway a copy.

Doris has kindly offered to send one lucky reader an autographed copy of The Fresh Energy Cookbook!

To enter:

All you have to do is leave a comment on this post, with a suggestion for dishes or recipes you’d like to see posted in the future.

The winner is Cammie! She has been emailed and has 48 hours to respond with her mailing address. If no response is received in the next 48 hours, another winner will be selected.

Disclosure: I personally approached Doris to host this giveaway, because I’m such a fan of her work and I wanted to share it with my readers. She sent me a complimentary copy, as a friend, but I am under no obligation to post a positive review. As always, I will never promote a product that I don’t personally love myself! In fact, I’ve bought a copy of this book for practically everyone I know.

I would like to see more recipes with fish like salmon or sardines, also may be with organic liver cause I know it is healthy but I have not find the way to eat it.

I’m a college student and this blog is my constant go to! All of the recipes are easy to make and cheaper than most other paleo/vegetarian/vegan blogger’s recipes. My favorite recipes created by yourself are the Vanilla Chia Pudding (another batch is sitting in my mini fridge!), Grain-Free Pumpkin Bars, and the Almond Butter Freezer Fudge. The fudge is also in my fridge and I use it to better portion out my Homemade Almond Butter because I can eat that stuff by the spoonful. Your guide on Homemade Almond Butter is the best!

My suggestion for recipes to post in the future is general. Living in a dorm is a lot different than at home being that I do not have access to a kitchen. I was wondering if you would post a recipe that is easily done in a dorm room for college kids who strive to avoid the gross dining hall food. I LOVE homemade food and the Farmer’s Market here but it can get pretty expensive. I was also wondering if you could come up with a post about living healthy and tips to eating when at college. Many of your followers may not be college students but it is an idea!

Thanks! I can’t wait to see future delicious recipes!!

I would like to see more paleo-vegan pies πŸ™‚ like a squash pie and such

Hi! I love Natalia’s books and by extension Doris too! I’d like to see entrees with high veggies & good protein content. Thanks!

Wow, all of those look so good – especially the tomato sauce and the soup! I love all your dessert recipes, but would also love to see more warm winter entrees like stews.

I would love to see more vegetable recipes. thank you!

Love it! I have a few of these recipes myself, from my training with Doris, but some look new since then. And so beautiful. Love love love to win it. And, I think you should please post an everything bagel recipe. I’ve seen some raw ones, some paleo ones, but none of them look quite right. Also, I think the pale recipe was for the microwave! Help us out.

I love your recipes for casseroles

Yum! So fresh and new , this book looks great!

I would like to see more variations of Asian and Mexican food on the blog! Like healthier tacos or Chicken Pad Thai πŸ™‚

That cookbook looks great! I love your smoothie recipes, because I recently got a BlendTec. I would love to see some more healthy creations!

Looks like a great book! I would love to see a pad thai recipe that you could do with either zucchini noodles/sweet potato noodles/rice noodles, but importantly just a really delicious sauce. Also, either a thin mint or samoa Girl Scout cookie knockoff recipe (I know others have them out there–but I would imagine yours would be way better and healthier!) Thanks for all the recipes!!

I would love to have a copy of this cookbook! My fiance and I are embarking on a journey to detoxify our lives together, and I must admit it can be difficult at times! I recently stumbled across your blog and it has provided us with so many new ideas and things to try. Thank you so much for all the time and effort you put into creating such detailed and easy to follow recipes. Am looking forward to many more delicious, and most importantly healthy, well balanced meals. I would love to see more smoothie ideas made with fresh produce. I just love making smoothies and juices and need help switching things up and bringing in a wider variety of fruits and veggies πŸ™‚

great blog-it’s been extremely helpful to me!

I would love to win this as well as I am on a 90 anti-candida cleanse! Your recipes have been sooo helpful for trying to feed my family. I’d love to see more main dishes that are “yeast friendly!” I’m not sure “yeast friendly” is a thing but you know what I mean! Thanks!

I’d love to see more veggie + protein dishes. That cookbook looks wonderful – especially the collard wraps with carrot jalapeno sauce!

Sounds like a wonderful cookbook! If it’s written by your mentors, I’m sure the recipes are delicious.

Cookbook sounds great! I would love to see more recipes that do not include any appliances, such as dehydrator, blender, food processer. We travel a lot and do not always have the appliances needed for most recipes, which can be a struggle! Thanks!! X

More chocolate and peanut butter recipes and single serving desserts!

Oh my goodness! I would love to win this cookbook!! I am a freshman in college and am always finding ways to eat healthy and properly.combined meals, but im sick of eating salads and salty veggeoes lol. And Detoxinista please make some wheat-free chicken pot pies or mochi? Thank you soo much!

I can’t wait to check out this book even if I don’t win it! Looks like it is right up my ally.
As for recipes, I could go for a nice comfort food recipe (any take on a new lasagna, or pizza idea).
However, spring is creeping upon us and I also can’t wait to see what meals you create with all the fresh veggies – salads, wraps, new sides, etc. yum:)

I would love to see more soup or crock pot recipes.

Hello, I found yourwebsite a few weeks ago and I am so happy I did as I am changing the way my family and I eat. I would love to see some easy recipies that kids would enjoy, and we are vegetarians soooo easy kid friendly vegetarian meals, snack, ‘sweets’ Thank you πŸ™‚

This is great! I would love to see some good higher protein meals which include lots of veggies. πŸ™‚

Salads! I always get in a salad rut and end up just eating greens with tomatos or plain cabbage! Or even just more raw meals that I can eat before cooked food & dessert (which you already have down pat) πŸ™‚

This looks like a great book! My husband and I have been working hard to adopt a new, healthy lifestyle. Since November, he’s lost about 75 pounds and I’ve lost 20! We’ve had a lot of success so far cutting out processed food and eating fresh, but are wanting to eat even more cleanly. This book would give us so many great options! I would love to see some quick breakfast options to give me more variety and side dishes to go with our lean protein at dinner. Thanks!

I would love to win. I have a son that has extensive food allergies so I am mainly looking for recipes that include him…but this book sure looks fun. I would love to see vege dishes..

I would like to see recipes using fresh veggies and maybe a sauce for pasta. I grow lots of tomatoes, so some dishes with fresh tomatoes would nice!

Daniela RebellΓ³n

Hi I love your blog! And I would love to see a vegetarian gluten free version of a chili taco soup or supreme nachos. I’m 18 and I’m really trying to eat this way and help my family make the transition and you have made it so easy and delicious, thank you for everything Detoxinista!

I would love to see more vegan breakfast recipes. It’s hard to find something low in sugar/carbs without eggs!

I would like to see more almound flour recipes – sweet and savory. We love almond flour!

Detoxinista you should really try making a vegetarian, or vegan friendly version of a mushroom cream soup this is so delicious but can be so fatty! Anything with mushrooms really! We love you

Naomi J. Wilson

Goodmorning πŸ™‚ I would love, love, love to see you post more raw (vegan) entrees and recipes. I have been very “raw-curious” but find it difficult at times to know where to begin or to find recipes that are simple and convenient. Thank you for all that you do. <3

I would love to see some “easy on the wallet” recipes. In today’s economy eating fresh and healthy can be a huge burden on some people. I am a newly wed, and we are trying to improve our eating habits while staying within our budget.

I would love a copy of this cookbook!!! And have always wanted to find a grain/cream-of-anything free chicken & dumplings recipe:)

I always feel like I need more salad dressing recipes. It’s the best way to feel like you’re mixing it up! I also LOVE LOVE LOVE squash and any way I can incorporate it – I do!

I would LOVE a detox pad thai recipe…I love pad thai and would love to figure out how to make it a clean eating dish! If I don’t win I need to pick up that book! I love Detox the World….

This book sounds wonderful! I would LOVE to see some recipes for incorporating more veggies into breakfast. I enjoy veggie juice and green smoothies, but I’d really like a vegetable-heavy breakfast I can chew. Thank you!

I would love to see some more dinner recipes.

The raw kimchi looks fabulous!

I am vegetarian and would love to see a vegetarian recipe (soy-free) for crab cakes.

I remember you blogging about this cookbook in 2012. What a great way to check it out now if we can win it! I would love to see more of the following recipes please:

– more recipes for greens, like collard, kale, etc.
– healthy granola recipes
– I really like how you make desserts healthier. Can you also include healthy ethnic desserts, like mallorcas or baklava ? That would be DIVINE!

Keep up the good work!

This sounds amazing!

I would love to see recipes that do not require a high-powered blender. I don’t have one for the moment and have no means of getting a good one or storing it! This makes actually preparing many of your recipes very difficult. What can be made without this magic tool?
I love the fresh ideas I get from your blog.

Cookbook looks wonderful! Would love to see more recipes that can easily be made ahead of time and packed for taking to the office.

I would love to win this πŸ™‚
Love your recipes and be great to see more egg and dairy free alternatives.

Oooh, sounds like a great book! I’m in love with Mexican flavors, so I would be so very happy to see what Mexican inspired dishes you’d have in mind. Thanks for all you share!
