Weekend Things

1. Did you know that October is Non-GMO month? It was created by the Non-GMO Project to raise awareness on the GMO issue, and hundreds of retailers and companies are participating by supporting GMO-free products.

To celebrate, Bestowed boxes are filled with 100% GMO free products this month.

bestowed box with snacks(I was most excited to try the Unreal peanut butter cups–> just in time for Halloween!)

If you’d like to try all of the GMO-free products pictured above, Bestowed is offering nearly 50% off their boxes using promo code HELLOTEN103. The box above is available through October 31st!

2. Another snack we’ve enjoyed this month is from Simple & Crisp.

simple and crisp snacks

The company sent me a few samples to try, and they were a hit when we served them to our friends this past weekend (among other standard football snacks). These fruit crisps would make an elegant addition to a traditional fruit and cheese tray, or could create an impressive appetizer for the upcoming holidays!

They’re a perfect cracker substitute for those who need to remain gluten and grain-free!

3. I recently got the all-clear to workout again, and I am excited that Physique 57 is offering a new workout online!

physique cardio sculpt

Physique Cardio Sculpt! It tones both lower and upper body in just 30 minutes, which is perfect for me, since my baby won’t give me much more time than that! The online workouts are also the perfect way to try the Physique 57 before committing to their DVD set or class subscription.

The only problem with this workout is that it left me with sore legs, which is not fun when I’m already bouncing a baby nearly 24 hours a day… ouch!

Reader Feedback: Have you tried anything new recently? Everything else in my house seems to be baby-related… we’re trying lots of new things to get baby to sleep longer! Wish me luck.

*Disclaimer: I was sent a complimentary package from Bestowed and Simple & Crisp, but as always, I am under no obligation to post a positive review.

The Unreal peanut butter cups are AMAZING. So much better than Reese’s. I’ve never tried the Justin’s one so I can’t compare… but I do have a pack of them hiding in a drawer ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ve really been wanting to try the hemp pro70 protein powder but no where on the package or website does it specify it’s gluten free. Do you know if it is?

When baby gets to be 3 months old- you can start using the sleep suit. Merlin’s magic sleep suit was amazing and helped my son a ton! The first night he slept 12 hours straight and every night after until he got too big. At first he loved to be swaddled but then got really strong and I couldn’t keep him swaddled tight enough. The sleep suit was phenomenal!!! Good luck!

From one mother to another…i’ve been there. And it was borderline unbearable. Like waking every 45-90 minutes around the clock for 6 months borderline unbearable…it was a VERY gradual improvement. So if you need advice or just want to vent, please email me. I could really have used someone when I was in your shoes and I am all ears if you need anything. I think I googled every possible sleep remedy on the planet while breastfeeding 12 hours out of the day!

Your baby is still tiny. But, I recently hired a sleep coach from Babysleepsite.com and am loving the support. They helped design a schedule and sleep train plan that feels gentle (no crying) and do able. My 6 month old is finally starting to put herself to sleep.

Thank you for this post! I like that many of your posts keep me informed, & through this one, you’ve now informed me about Non-GMO month, Bestowed & Simple&Crisp! I bookmarked the 2 companies :0). Thanks – I love learning about new things – esp. when it comes to health & good food! Hope baby & therefore you & hubby get more sleep!!
