What I Ate Wednesday

I’ve been on a raw food kick lately. When the weather gets warmer, I can’t seem to get enough of my favorite green juices, smoothies and salads!

Oh, and plenty of raw treats.

This combo tasted just like lemonade, thanks to the sweet carrots.

Next time, I’ll try to record exactly what I added because it was pretty addictive stuff!

I’m excited for the details on that raw dessert! I’m also eating a lot of raw foods lately – mostly in the form of fruit and salads. The hot weather definitely makes me crave the crunchiness, and it’s so much easier when you don’t have to cook! This week, my lunches are including an enormous salmon and edamame salad I made on the weekend with a bunch of veggies and lemon-dill vinaigrette. I’m loving it and am no where near bored – even after 3 days!


    I’m not bored with it, either! I think my meals taste better than ever, in fact. And I love not cooking!! ๐Ÿ˜‰


Looks yummy. I’m currently enjoying some coffee with your creamer. What a genius idea to add the coconut oil!

I’ve also been rockin’ the raw salads with tahini dressing lately, I can’t get enough of tahini!

I also wanted to ask you – any great ideas for what to do with the almond pulp? I’ve got a batch sitting in my fridge looking lonely.


    I’ve had terrible luck using my leftover almond pulp. I’ll let you know if I come up with anything, though!

I crave raw foods too when it’s warm out! Luv all your healthy foods..yum yum…and of course, can’t wait to see that new recipe!! I’ve been eating pretty much the same..lots of salads, wraps, I was craving scrambled eggs and goat cheese in my wraps after seeing your version…I have enjoyed them! Oh, must not forget my delicious pudding (made with carrots!) ๐Ÿ™‚

This week I’m eating…oatgurt. And asparagus. And berries. For some reason I haven’t been in a salad mood, which is weird.


    You might be surprised! Austin thought it was really delicious, and he usually stays far away from my green juices… ๐Ÿ˜‰

MMM, I love your pudding idea! And, your little dessert looks like something I’ve been experimenting with, though I could be wrong. Still, it’s a lovely time of year for lemons! Did I guess a little bit?

I’ve been the polar opposite from you…once I opened my bbq all I want is grilled food! I had been going sort of overboard on the honey and chocolate with a bit of flab to prove it, so I have taken on a 30 day challenge to eat more protein and reduce sugar cravings…I’ve been having tons of veggies, fish, chicken and avocado on salad. I’ve also been eating alot of sweet potatoes and raspberries. Green smoothies, sweets and dark chocolate candy bars have no appeal at all right now….who am I??? I guess the challenge is working!


    I go through phases with chocolate & sweets in general, and then have long stretches where all I want is protein and veggies! I guess there’s always that natural ebb & flow, huh? After this week, I think I’ve actually sweet-ed myself out with raw treats! (I wasn’t sure that could happen with me… but apparently it can.) ๐Ÿ˜‰

    I’m totally jealous of your grill. I’m visiting my parents next week, so maybe I can talk them into grilling for me!


      I got the grill at a garage sale for $20! Check craigslist…totally worth it!


I have been doing a lot of raw myself. LOTS of green smoothies! Sometimes it will be smoothie for breakfast, smoothie for lunch, and a large salad for dinner with a raw dessert later on. I feel amazing and light when I do this. The smoothies are packed full of greens and high nutrition ingredients. Also, savory green blended soups for lunch or dinner have been nice. Always a salad before dinner meal. I’ve got a raw chocolate BASIL superfood smoothie on my blog (today’s) that I’ve been rocking for the past few days, since I have a lot of basil in fridge. Look forward to dessert recipe soon. ๐Ÿ™‚


    Mmm.. that raw chocolate basil smoothie sounds really interesting! I’ll have to check it out!

    I’ve been thinking of trying more savory blended soups, too. Any favorites? I’ve had terrible luck with the couple I’ve tried in the past…

Just saw the new post too. Funny. I made the everyday raw version for Eastover dinner with my family. These look so much simpler! Gotta try ’em!
