Hi everyone! Happy almost-Friday. 😉
I woke up this morning with every muscle in my body ACHING! All thanks to my new workout DVD:
Mandy Ingber’s Yogalosophy!
Mandy Ingber is Jennifer Aniston’s yoga and fitness intstuctor, so my interest was immediately piqued when I heard she was releasing a workout DVD! Who doesn’t want Jennifer Aniston’s body?!
Obviously, I was thrilled when my mom got me the DVD for my birthday. Thanks, Mom! 😀
What I love about this DVD, is the variety. There is a 30-minute workout with coaching, and the same workout without coaching as well (for those of us who do the same workout over and over, but get sick of hearing the same talking!!) There is also a “fully loaded” 55-minute challenge.
Last night, I tried the 30-minute workout. And it ROCKED! What I love about Mandy’s method, is that she combines yoga WITH strength training moves. So after you do something like “chair pose” you immediately go into a set of squats! My legs were on fire! After the 30-minutes, I felt like I had worked almost every muscle-group in my body. I can only imagine how worked I will feel after the 55-minute challenge!
This morning, my lower-body hurts, my upper-body hurts, and my abs hurt. In a good way, of course. 🙂
I also LOVE Mandy Ingber’s attitude while she coaches. She doesn’t have an intimidating or pretentious “yogi” personality– she encourages you to do the poses to the best of your ability, and to listen to your body if you need a break. I also LOVE her mantras! While in an uncomfortable lunge position, she says she chants to herself, “I have a great ass, I have a great ass.” Ha ha! And you know what? It totally got me through it. 😉
This DVD is definitely going to become a regular workout in my marathon training!
