If you love the Creamy Jalapeño Sauce from Taco Bell, you're going to be blown away by how easy it is to make it at home. This version requires NO mayo or oil, but somehow it tastes remarkably similar. Plus, you can blend it together in 5 minutes or less! Once you taste this homemade version, you'll want to drizzle it on tacos, burrito bowls, and more.
In a high-speed blender (preferably a personal-sized blender, since this is a small batch), add the almond butter, water, jalapeño slices, lime juice, smoked paprika, cumin, onion powder, and salt. Secure the lid and blend until smooth, about 60 seconds.
Taste the sauce and make any adjustments you like. Add a few more jalapeño slices for more heat, or a little extra lime juice for more tang. Once you're happy with it, pour it into an airtight container with a lid and transfer it to the fridge. Let it chill for at least 4 hours; it will thicken when chilled. Or use it right away if you don't mind a runnier consistency.
Notes
Nutrition information is for approximately 2 tablespoons of sauce, assuming you get 1 cup total from this recipe. This is automatically calculated using a generic online ingredient database, so it's just an estimate, not a guarantee. Almond Butter Note: I tested this recipe with Artisana brand raw almond butter, which has a very mild flavor. It doesn't taste roasted, unlike some other brands. You can make homemade almond butter if you want something similar. If you want to use hemp hearts as an alternative, check out my Cilantro Lime Sauce for guidance. You can add jalapeños and spices to that, too!
