Thanksgiving is just days away, so in case you haven’t fully planned-out your menu, I thought I’d share some of my favorite recipes that are perfect for accommodating any friends or family members who have special dietary needs.
I’ve included some of our tried-and-true favorites, like my spiced cranberry sauce, maple glazed sweet potatoes, and French Silk Pie, along with a few new ideas to try this year, like my Vegan Skillet “Cornbread” and from-scratch Green Bean Casserole. As always, all of the recipes are gluten-free, and many of them are also dairy-free, vegan, and paleo-friendly.
I hope you find something that all of your guests will love!

This casserole gets its creaminess from blended garbanzo beans as a low-fat and dairy-free “cream sauce.” It’s super-flavorful and super-quick to prepare, using frozen green beans as a shortcut. If you’d prefer a bean-free version, check out my Clean Green Bean Casserole, which is entirely vegetable based.
This casserole tastes remarkably like the version made with Jiffy corn mix, but it’s made using whole-grain millet as a gluten-free alternative. It’s just as addictive as the original, and easy to prepare.
3. Shredded Brussels Sprouts Salad
This salad is full of festive colors and is sturdy enough to sit out for a while after being tossed in the vinaigrette, so it’s perfect for bringing to a Thanksgiving potluck.
This bread is gluten-free and, surprisingly, corn-free… but it still tastes like cornbread! It’s the perfect alternative to dinner rolls this year.
5. Maple Glazed Sweet Potatoes
This vegan side dish is a delicious alternative to traditional sweet potato casserole– no marshmallows needed!
This dairy-free mac n’ cheese has become a fan favorite, and it would make the perfect addition to any holiday table. It’s so rich and creamy! If you need a nut-free version, try my Sweet Potato Mac n’ Cheese instead.
This easy cranberry sauce calls for just a handful of all-natural ingredients and tastes a million times better than the kind that comes out of a can.
8. Wild Rice & Mushroom Stuffing
This gluten-free stuffing has all the flavor you love, without the need for bread.
9. Mashed Cauliflower “Potatoes”
If you want the flavor of mashed potatoes without all of the starchy carbs, this mashed cauliflower dish is a lighter alternative. When you top them with freshly cracked pepper or your favorite gravy, they are just as satisfying as traditional spuds!
For those of you who need to avoid grains entirely, this vegetable-based stuffing is a delicious alternative. It’s loaded with flavor, but much lower in fat and carbohydrates for those following a special diet.
11. French Silk Pie
This is hands-down my favorite pie recipe, and I love that it’s egg-free and soy-free. It tastes remarkably like the real thing, while being paleo and vegan-friendly!
Instead of making a whole pie, how about serving these cute individual tartlets to your guests? They are super-easy to prepare and taste amazing!
This recipe calls for just a handful of all-natural ingredients– no flour required– to make the most moist and delicious pumpkin bars you’ve ever tasted. Top them with this Maple Pecan Glaze for an extra decadent treat!
If you prefer to work with coconut flour, try my Coconut Flour Pumpkin Bars instead.
14. No-Bake Pumpkin Chocolate Cheesecake
This vegan and paleo “cheesecake” is a huge hit with everyone, and gives you one less thing to make in your oven.
With this pie, you’ll only need 4 ingredients to make the easiest and tastiest filling ever!
Give your oven a break and make these delicious bars instead of the sugar-laden pie. I’ve been known to snack on them for breakfast, too!
This flourless chocolate cake is naturally sweetened, but still totally decadent. It’s so rich that a little slice goes a long way! (Especially when topped with a dollop of coconut whipped cream.)
Need help with the turkey?
For our Friendsgiving celebration this year, Diestel Turkey Ranch sent us a pre-cooked organic turkey to our doorstep. It was seriously the BEST turkey I’ve ever tasted, and all I had to do was reheat it 90 minutes before the party started. I’m never cooking a turkey from scratch again! If you want to try a Diestel organic turkey this year, use the promo code 15DETOX on their website to get $15 off your entire order! (One per customer, valid through 11/22/2016 11:59AM PST.)
