Valentine Fun

Valentine’s day has come and gone… did you all have a good one?

Here’s how we celebrated:

The BEST pancakes in the world.

(Even better when made using heart-shaped pancake rings!)

Gifts!! Wrapped in ultra-posh paper bags from Whole Foods. ;)

I gave Austin a custom-made shirt, based off the fake corn dog shop in the movie Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter’s Dead.

(I illustrated that logo myself, while using the paused DVD as reference from our TV screen.)

That’s love.

Rather than going out for an over-priced, fancy dinner on the big night, we opted to stay at home and enjoy some of our favorite comfort foods. I offered to make Austin whatever he wanted for dinner, but he said he wanted a “cheat night.” (a.k.a. Chinese take-out.)

Makes life easy for me!

My comfort food, on the other hand, is almost always in the form of Italian food.

Pizza!!! Topped with caramelized onions, goat cheese and fresh rosemary. Perhaps the best combo ever.

And no Valentine’s Day dinner is complete without dessert!

I made these extra-special treats for Austin:

You all can probably guess his favorite flavor combo by now… but these things are seriously addictive. And way healthier than the original!

I’m excited to share the recipe soon. :D
