Featuring creamy avocado and dairy-free almond milk, this shake is a delicious alternative to traditional milkshakes!

liquid stevia, to taste (I used 10-15 drops)
a large handful of ice

Throw everything into your (preferably high-powered) blender, and blend until smooth and creamy! Serve immediately.

  • So true about eating nutrient dense foods! I don’t track my calories anymore, but I did for a while. I used http://www.nutridiary.com

  • This drink looks yummy. I am going to have to try it too. I stopped drinking coffee but I still have one from time to time just pure habit. But this would be much better.

I still have a cup of coffee every now and then, too. I love the smell and flavor– just hate the way it usually makes me feel after. :(

Luckily, this Chai latte totally hits the spot! Hope you like it!

        Hi Megan!
I work for a locally-owned coffee shop here in Tucson, AZ. I wanted to offer some info on coffee, if you’re noticing feeling jittery and horrible after drinking some coffee, find out what kind of beans were used. Most coffee is made with robusta beans, they grow big fast, and are able to withstand lots of pesticides. Robusta beans have a high caffeine content, and are chemical-laden. Look for a coffee shop that buys arabica beans, preferably organic. Our coffee shop roasts their own. I was never able to drink coffee until I tried organic 100% arabica coffee. If its roasted correctly (roasted to origin), you won’t need to add anything to it.

Just an FYI for you and your followers. Hope I helped shed some light on why some people think coffee makes them jittery!

  • awww I LOVE roastaroma, I’m sad you didn’t like it! Did you put stevia in it? I think its delicious with stevia and almond milk. This recipe sounds fantastic too though!

    • Megan

No, I didn’t try stevia or almond milk in it. I always preferred my coffee “black” so I’m not used to adding anything to it! Honestly, I could barely get past the smell of the Roastaroma… it’s just not my taste, I guess.

I hear Teeccino is good, but have you tried it? Does it taste anything like this one? That might be on my “to try” list next!

Did you put your green juice into the calorie counter? It’s interesting to know how many calories, vitamins and minerals they have.

I was doing a google search on this tonight and decided to finish at your website – you never seem to let me down!! I’ve been sick the past couple days and am going to try to heat this up on the stove — I’ll let you know how it goes :)

I can’t track calories… it leads to trouble!!! If I track I obsess about if my 1/2 cup of lettuce was really a 1/2 cup or did I pack it too tight or loose… Was it really more calories than the tracker said? Less? What if I’m eating more than I think? What if it’s less? This leads to me eating more processed, prepackaged foods because they say the calories on the side…

I start with the goal of eating 1200 calories but always come in under and that’s with me making my portions slightly under what I enter in the tracker. Then I somehow end up cutting calories for who knows what reason… but I also chronically worry that I’m not eating enough and that my body will go into starvation mode and refuse to lose weight. IT MAKES ME CRAZY!!! I’m sure many some of you can relate :)

Currently, I am focused on health and making a true life change. I don’t want to track calories for the rest of my life so I’m not doing it now. I’ve blended many diet theories together and come up with a good plan that works for me. Its the Low Glycemic Detox for Women’s pH Miracle LOL… Maybe that title needs work :) From what I’ve read I think your on a similar plan.

I do write down what I make each day… no measurements just ingredients and thought on it. It helps me remember stuff I’ve liked so I can make it again :)

  • I also love to use Roasted CHICOREE ROOT TEA. I dont really like the taste of green tea.The taste is similar to coffee.

Do you suppose a handful of spinach would overwhelm the chai latte taste?

    Hi Megan,

I am looking for an alternative to both soy and almond milk as they don’t agree with me, I often have an upset stom, ach after consuming.
I have been resulting to regular milk but have always been unsure about it.

    Any advice appreciated!

Planning a detox, and your blog has been incredibly helpful. It’s made me realized it isn’t going to be hard whatsoever. I’m rather excited now. Thank you Megan!

I made this smoothie this morning and used So Delicious Coconut milk and thought it tasted like soap. I couldn’t even drink it, I threw it away. I am going to try again tomorrow with almond milk instead.

  • I just made this with maple syrup (I don’t use Stevia) and it was amazing! Thanks for the recipe!

  • Diana

Hi there! I just made this smoothie for lunch and I wanted to tell you that it was absolutely delicious! I did add 1/2 a frozen banana to it because I had it left over from another smoothie day :) this is the 3rd recipe I have tried from Your website and all three were absolutely wonderful! Thank you so much for sharing all of your recipes!
