What I Ate Wednesday

Morning

Un-pictured: Water, daily probiotics, and coffee with plenty of homemade almond milk creamer.

Green juice from Pressed Juicery.

Despite what the bottle says, this is actually a combo of Greens 3 and Greens 4–> I like to mix and match their juices so they aren’t too sweet. I love the heat from the cayenne, the bite of ginger and just a bit of sweetness from the apple.

Lunch

Baby kale salad, dressed with red bell peppers, homemade sauerkraut and creamy tahini dressing.

Followed by quite a bit of raw macadamia nut fudge.

I was experimenting with a new recipe, and it turned out so well that I nearly polished off the whole batch in one sitting… in fact, I did polish off the whole batch before dinner. Whoops.

Dinner

Take-out from California Pizza Kitchen, courtesy of my mother-in-law. I ordered the Roasted Vegetable Salad, which is topped with assorted roasted veggies and avocado. Delicious!

Followed later by a cup of homemade vanilla almond milk, inspired by Pressed Juicery’s version–> flavored with dates, vanilla and sea salt. It’s the perfect summertime treat!

You must feel so great after eating all this good food! I have been eating raw food now for a month and I’m loving it. Enjoy the summer and keep posting!

How much sea salt and vanilla did you put in your almond milk? :) Looks like a delicious day!

  • i’m pretty sure my coconut oil consumption has doubled since I started reading your blog ;) Your fudge is so addictive!

I used to get juice at Pressed in Brentwood, but I heard they don’t use organic produce? I’ve been making large batches on my omega juicer- and love it. This week I’ve been doing a lot of green juice, blended soups & kale & kraut salad (basically kale + avocado + lemon juice + kraut mixed together, it’s delicious). Love your blog btw!

    • If I remember correctly, Pressed Juicery used to have a statement on their website that they used organic produce as much as possible, but they couldn’t guarantee it all the time, which is why they didn’t print it on the label. Now, I can’t seem to find where they said that… so perhaps things have changed. They’re definitely more of a back-up option for me, so I won’t worry about it too much. ;) I love using my Omega juicer, too!

All of your eats sound delicious! I’m going to try that kale & kraut salad this week!

  • I think you mean NOT eating – I’m juicing this week!

  • Did you order juice from Pressed to bring with you? HOw long will it last? Thanks

    • Yes, I ordered a package from them for my long weekend in Palm Springs. They will last 3 days, so if you get it delivered on a Friday morning, it will stay fresh through Sunday. When you order a package, you can get it delivered as often as you need– so I get 4 juices every 3 days or so.

      Hope that helps!

  • Yesterday morning, I was experimenting with a couple of recipes and I had everything out for your raw chocolate bar recipe…a few seconds later it was in the freezer, then my mouth…oh my gosh..it’s an amazing recipe! I am so excited to have it, thanks much for sharing! I made a modified version that I am going to post soon..thanks for the inspiration!
