What I Ate Wednesday

Morning

Earthbar gimme green juiceI started my day with a 16 oz. green juice from Earthbar. This cucumber, kale, lemon and green apple blend tastes like a green lemonade!

I’m still loving my new Sunwarrior protein powder! In this mix: a frozen banana, a scoop of protein powder, 2 large handfuls of fresh spinach, a spoonful of sunflower seed butter, water and ice. Filling and delicious!

Lunch

salad in a bowl and making almond butter fudgeA large romaine salad smothered in creamy tahini dressing, and topped with steamed beets and cherry tomatoes. I forgot how much I love that tahini dressing!

Followed by an individual portion of raw almond butter fudge, made without the honey. Thanks to the I Quit Sugar Challenge, I’ve noticed my taste buds have adjusted to enjoying less sweetness– plain almond butter tastes pretty sweet to me now!

Dinner

salad in a bowl and a bowl of butternut squash soupMixed green salad topped with half an avocado, beets, tomatoes and my Honey Dijon dressing.

Followed by two bowls of homemade butternut squash soup. I’ve been on a serious soup-kick lately–> I think I could have it for dinner every night!

    Yes I do! You’ll notice that in my latest Wednesday post, I enjoyed two bowls of homemade chicken soup. ๐Ÿ™‚

Wow. I just made the cucumber, kale, lemon and green apple juice. It is freakin’ delecious! I never liked cucumbers that much, I think it was a texture thing, but now that I have started juicing with them, I am getting them in my diet. They are perfect as a juicing base.

After the holiday week, I am trying to eat as much raw and green things as possible! My body is thanking me daily for that. I’ve been dying to try your honey dijon dressing and may have to make some tonight.

I love the Christmas tree in the background, but the puppy on the back of the couch melted my heart!

I ate an apple & a glass of raw milk for b-fast.
Chicken soup (home made) with a salad for lunch.
Salad and chicken at a pot luck. Also red wine.
A very chickeny day – made my tummy feel awful ๐Ÿ™

Three things:
1. I am a huge fan of your tahini dressing making it every week. I thought it was my fav until…
2. I made your honey Dijon dressing. I am addicted! It makes every salad better.
3. I made your curry butternut soup last night and is the absolute best! I roasted the squash instead and used coconut milk in place of almond. Repeat for sure!

    Yes, they’re usually what I ate the day before. “What I Ate Tuesday” just doesn’t have the same ring to it. ๐Ÿ˜‰

trader joes sardines in evoo (the pretty gold/green boxed one), sauteing broc. slaw and eating it like a noodle or pureed into a creamy soup with this raw dressing i found: http://www.zukay.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=125&Itemid=193 and lots of daikon radish this week with juice pulp nori rolls!

    omg I love trader joes sardines, I thought I was the only one. Have you tried the pink can? so good. Plus sardines are supposed to be uber healthy!

      I also love Trader Joe’s sardines in EEVO, very meaty. They always make me think of my dear dad, as he would often open a tin of sardines and eat them with saltine crackers and tomato soup.

        I have been scared to try sardines up until now, but you guys just convinced me to try them!

Nice! My taste buds have also changed after going sweetener-free… I licked a bit of leftover tomato paste from a knife and I was blown away how sweet it was!! I’ve been enjoying a lot of Indian curries throughout this challenge.

I love your yellow salad bowl!

For the last few weeks I’ve just been working my way through Doris Choi’s cookbook. I’d gotten into a bit of a kitchen rut – or so I felt, the whole sweet potatoes every other day routine I fall in to – so I’ve been on a soup kick too, having now completed those chapters! Lentil burgers tonight….
