I’m still traveling for work, so my meals are a little all over the place lately.
Morning
I haven’t taken my usual morning probiotics all week. Mostly because I’ve been in a rush to get out the door to work each morning!
With the super-hot weather, I’ve been sipping on iced tea in lieu of coffee, along with plenty of water throughout the morning. And raw almonds make the perfect travel-breakfast while I’m sitting at my desk!

Lunch
Green smoothie! (2 glasses, about 30 oz. total)
This blend included 3 handfuls of fresh spinach, a frozen banana, frozen mango chunks, a whole avocado, water, cinnamon and ice.

Pre-workout
When I get home from work in the evenings, I finally have time to make juice! This is the same blend as yesterday–> perfect for fueling a quick walk/jog on the treadmill.
I don’t have much patience for exercise this week, so I’m lucky if I can squeeze in 20-30 minutes of anything.

Dinner
Mixed green salad with steamed beets, tomatoes, soft goat cheese crumbles, lemon juice and Dijon mustard.
Followed by a pile of Pizza Steamed Veggies, topped with soft goat cheese this time around. It’s delicious either way!
Not surprisingly, I finished off my night with half a bar of my favorite mint dark chocolate… while watching a marathon of Friday Night Lights on Netflix streaming.
I’m totally addicted.

Reader Feedback: What are YOU eating this week?

I’m eating heaps of beets too! I love them just raw and sliced thinly, usually with my spiralizer if they’re small enough. Sometimes I roast them and they’re just as good that way too! This week’s eats for me include heaps of raw veggies, cottage cheese and cinnamon (one of my fave high-protein snacks!) and cherries, since my muscles have been sore from running and they’re good natural anti-inflammatories!
A whole lot more raw, thanks to London finally arriving in London! Reading your blog reminds me I ought to try more variety of chocolate… (any excuse, I guess). I adore FNL too – very, very addictive. I was so sad it ended.
just read an interview on Vulture with Connie Britten and the script for the feature is written – so FNL lives on!!!
That’s exciting re FNL! I wonder where they’ll take it…
I can’t wait for a FNL movie!!
I meant summer arriving in London
Love all the fruits and veggies!!! I had some dark chocolate last night and totally thought of you! It was the perfect way to end my night!
Ha, it’s good to know that people think of me when they eat dark chocolate.
It is the perfect way to end the night!
A lot of juice. It’s been so hot in Michigan I just don’t have an appetite. We are swimming in zucchini from our garden. Any good recipes??
I can relate the heat!!!
Here are a few of my favorite “cooling” zucchini recipes:

I’ve got a few more zucchini-based ideas in store over the next couple of weeks, so stay tuned.
Thanks!!!
I have barely turned the stove on for a month. For me, meals have been: smoothie for breakfast, salad for lunch, and for dinner? Sometimes just some popcorn smothered in nutritional yeast or some cheese and crackers.
Hi Megan! I just discovered your blog and I love it! I noticed your eats are heavy on fruits, veggies and (healthy) fats. Just curious if you still meet your protein RDA or if there is a reason why you focus more on those macronutrients (carbs/fats).
Hi Mia! I was a vegetarian for many years, and even though I’m not anymore, I still eat a highly plant-based diet… simply because that seems to work best for me. Greens are surprisingly loaded with protein (my morning green juice usually has 17 grams!), so in addition to the nuts, eggs and goat cheese that are also in my day, I have no problem meeting those needs!
Do you see any difference switching between probiotics or even when you forget to take them for a couple of days?
Yes, sometimes I do feel a difference when I switch brands, or if I’m coming back to them after taking a week-long break.
Last night I made your goat yogurt ranch, and used it to top a big salad of mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, and red bell pepper, and goat cheese. (The whole family enjoyed the ranch!) After that, used my rice cooker to steam some baby carrots, broccoli, beets, and tilapia. Made a quick sauce out of lemon juice, dijon, dill, and stevia, and drizzled that over everything. So simple, so delicious!!!
All of that sounds so wonderful! Now I’m craving that goat yogurt ranch.
